By November 13, SFP-ZAPA had received 12 positions from individual creators' and producers' organizations as part of the ongoing Round Table talks on the distribution of royalties. This is an important stage in the consultations, which aim to take into account the diverse voices of the film community.
The first meeting of the so-called royalty tables will take place on December 4th this year. The main topic will be issues related to co-authorship in animation. The schedule for subsequent meetings is being arranged, and details will be communicated to the professional groups concerned in the coming days.
Importantly, the SFP-ZAPA Allocation Board has decided to postpone the entry into force of the resolution of August 28th regarding the proportion of shares between co-founders. Originally, the resolution was to take effect on January 1, 2025, but according to the decisions made at the aforementioned Council meeting, if different positions are submitted, its entry into force will be postponed until July 1, 2025. Such a decision was also made at the Council meeting on November 13 this year.
SFP-ZAPA continues the dialog with industry representatives, aiming to develop joint solutions for the distribution of royalties. We will keep you updated on the results of subsequent meetings.
