SFP-ZAPA expands international cooperation

At the last meeting of the CTDLV (Dramatic, Literary and Audiovisual Technical Committee) committee of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers CISAC, our organization entered into agreements with the DBCA and GEDAR organizations representing Brazilian directors and screenwriters.

SFP-ZAPA has established a partnership with two Brazilian copyright collecting societies. The first one is DBCA - Diretores Brasileiros de Cinema e do Audiovisual, which represents the directors. Secend is GEDAR - Gestão De Direitos De Autores Roteiristas, protecting the rights of scriptwriters and dialog writers.

Both contracts cover all major areas of exploitation: broadcasting, VOD, rebroadcasting and cinema screenings.

In Brazil, a battle has been raging for many years for legislation to ensure that screenwriters and directors are entitled to remuneration for the exploitation of their works. Signing representation agreements guarantees the protection of Brazilian repertoire in Poland and other countries. At this stage, it is also the most effective form of international support for local creators in their fight for adequate legal regulations. Once they are introduced, both organizations will be able to start collecting remuneration also for Polish creators for the use of their works in Brazil.
